Accessibility for non-specialists - course package
This package is aimed at those who do not have accessibility as a main or direct task but need to know the essentials - to comply with laws and regulations, and to ensure that you reach out to everyone without exclusion or discrimination. For example, when assessing a project or proposal, interacting with customers or co-workers, providing feedback, or communicating through, or contributing to, digital channels.
Overview
The Accessibility for Non-specialists package provides basic but broad knowledge of digital accessibility. Introductions to accessibility and accessible documents are included, as well as the wide reaching principles of Universal Design. In addition, the package includes a course on plain language - how simple and clear language is essential for everyone to understand your communication - and a course on accessibility legislation.
For whom?
The content of this package is designed for those who are indirectly affected by accessibility. You are not a specialist and accessibility is not one of your main tasks, but you need basic knowledge in the field. You need to ensure that your work reaches your target group and does not exclude or discriminate against anyone.
The package is suitable for broad layers of employees in an organisation including those who communicate internally with colleagues or externally with the wider community, customers or partners, deal with public authorities, work in functions including procurement, purchasing and sales, HR or finance.
The package is suitable for employees in public organisations such as authorities and municipalities, the non-profit sector and private companies.
