How are standards used in public procurement?
Funded by Microsoft, Funka is conducting a survey of the standards used for to demand accessibility in public procurement.
Since January 1st 2017, the European procurement regulations have been tightened in terms of accessibility requirements. Among other things, what was previously a "should" requirement has now become a "shall" requirement.
The European Standard for Accessibility Requirements suitable for Public Procurement of ICT products and Services in Europe, EN301549, may be used as a minimum requirement. But how familiar is the standard? And how is it used? What is needed to make accessibility needs clear and efficient? This is something Microsoft wants to find out, and has chosen Funka as the partner to investigate it.
Funka is performing the study during November 2017.
