Digital Health Europe Twinning on Severe Asthma Kick-off meeting

Using the expertise of the first TWINNING, MASK (a Good practice of DG Santé on digital tools for citizen empowerment and person-centered care for rhinitis and asthma multimorbidity)  initiated a second TWINNING on severe asthma in order to reduce the burden of severe asthma in old age people. The objectives of the TWINNING are:

1. To form a European network for severe asthma in old age people globally (it does not exist),
2. To better understand the phenotype and treatment of severe asthma in old age people with possible differences between countries and gender.
3. To include the results into the MASK Good Practice for disease stratification and personalized health care with a vision to better prescribe expensive treatments (biologics) and follow-up the patients using real world data and artificial intelligence.

To be the basis for a further deployment beyond the funding including a network of centers of excellence on severe asthma (ARIACare for severe asthma) (Figure 1).
